Noisy manual transmission

Noisy manual transmission
This is my first Ford, so obviously my first mustang ;-)
I just purchased a 2007 Mustang GT (5spd), and noticed right away that it has a utility truck feeling transmission. So I must ask, Is this normal?
If you walk the clutch out (NO GAS) to get the car to a roll, or for holding it on a hill, etc, it makes a rapid clicking noise, which I understand would be the pressure plate or something in a half committed position, BUT WHY?...why the noise? Ok, so the next part is when I shift. Of course I can shift it with no noise, but the technique is kind of rediculous, so why does it make a click (shot gun recoil) sound when landing in gear.
Also, just for a test, I was in second and full engaged in gear, I then pressed in the clutch and let out (NO SHIFT AND NO GAS). When it engaged again, it made a recoil noise. I hope I am coming across clear.
Please understand, I just traded in my garbage chevy for this, and I hope I didn't end up with another problem.
Thanks,
OH, and the reviews seem really bad about this car. Can I get some honest views, and not just some flammers?

RE: Noisy manual transmission
I noticed the same thing on mine right after I boughtit brandnew. In fact, I was also able to make the sound by quickly pressing and releasing the gas pedal without disengaging and engaging the clutch. So I went right back to the dealer, took one of their mechanics for a ride, and he said that the drivetrain clunking sound is normal. But he told me to bring it back if the noise worsens, butit hasn't overthe 2.5 years that I've ownedit. It's my 1st Mustang also, and I've read that their drivetrains are noisy but durable. And I've put mine thru a s..t load of hard launches and shifts.

RE: Noisy manual transmission
There is slack in the drive train that sometimes makes noise when taken up. If you lift the rear wheels of the ground and turn the driveshaft by hand you can feel this slack first hand and it makes all kinds of noise then.

RE: Noisy manual transmission
If your 5 speed tranny dosen't make noise, take it back to Ford, and they'll replace it with one that that does. Just like if you buy a Harley motorcycle, if it dosen't leak oil they'll replace it free of charge, with one that does leak.
