cams a stealth mod?
I think I already know the answer to this question (the answer is NO) but I'll throw it out there anyway:can the mild cams offered for the s197 3V be considered what I call a "stealth mod" (a mod that won't void the warranty or one that cannot be detected by the dealership)? If it were a hot cam and the thing comes into the service drive idling really strangely, that would be one thing but I wouldn't think anything would give the milds away...I have zero experience with cams so if this question sounds stupid, that's why...
While I'm on the subject, can anyone think of any other stealth performance mods? I have the axle-back and k&n drop-in and my brenspeed x-cal 2 should be arriving tomorrow. I have factory 3:55s which I'm happy with.
I appreciate any feedback anyone has.

RE: cams a stealth mod?
So far the only real performance mod you have is the tuner...the axlebacks and drop in do nothing for you. The tuner is something that the dealer ar easily void the warranty with if they so choose. As for stealthy mods that give you good gains, they wont be bolt ons for the most part, they would be more drastic changes...rebuild the internals, new gear set, no HP gain with the gears but does completely change the way the car drives.

RE: cams a stealth mod?
I guess I forgot everything I read in the "got my cams in and here are the numbers" thread...I guess I shouldn't have started this thread at all unless we want to discuss stealth mods...which I guess is limited to UDPs, gears, and a tuner,, unless anyone feels like unbolting an o/r h-pipe every time they bring their car in...although it could be argued that K&N's FIPK doesn't require a retune and therefore shouldn't affect the warranty but 1. who uses any intakes but steeda and cai for s197s and 2. it's kind of a red-flag to have any CAI under the hood regardless of whether it involves a retune...
