Default driveshaft loops

Hey everyone, who's running what for ds loops...I know brenspeed sells a front and rear loop separately, but then CHE has a front only listed. Anyone running both front and rear loops, or is that overkill? Is everyone just running the front loop? Thanks...

^^^ the local track requires a driveshaft loop for all cars faster than 14.0 (hell we're even supposed to have those steel tire valves) so it looks like I'm getting one regardless. The CHE single should be OK then?

noob time!

what is a driveshaft loop for? and why would it be required for anything faster than 14's? and since our cars do 13's stock, why don't we already have it?

You need it for NHRA/IHRA rules at track and for your own safety.
If you run sticky tires you need a driveshaft safety loop no matter what speed you run at, period.
front only is fine if you have a one piece shaft. OEM shaft would require rear loop because of CV joint in the middle
I have a GMS front loop - easy install because it uses the exhaust shield studs on the bottom of the floor pan - no drilling or removing carpets. No need to remove the shaft to install them either.

the loop prevents you from becoming an olympic pole vaulter with your mustang in the event that the front ujoint lets go or anything else happens to the front of the driveshaft that would cause it to hit the ground during a pass. I guess NHRA is getting really **** about stuff latelyeven for slow cars (did you see my comment re: the steel tire valves for 14.0 and under?)...
...and our cars don't have it because it's racing equipment and ford doesn't condone using their cars for what they're made for, if that makes any sense. Same reason we all have to swap out our intakes, rear control arms, gearsets, etc. - the car's built for the common person, not the enthusiast...
I guess I'm stuck shelling out for the 2 piece. Brenspeed wants $240 for the set I think. Guess I'll email them re: ease of installation (have to mess with carpet or driveshaft for installation?) and roll my eyes, groan and get out my credit card...again (it never ends)...oh well beats paying for body work and a frame straightening (wreck at the track = not covered by insurance[:@])

You only need the front really. The rear one is more overkill than anything else.
