Default 4.10 gears

I am thinking about putting 4.10 gears in my car, I have 5SPD, stock for the most part. Tuned from brenspeed. My question is this, I want to be able to be going about 5 or 10 mph and hit it or clutch it, and burn rubber taking off. I can do it now but I feel as if tho second gear will be must better for hard shifting into and I hope the tires stay spinning. When you go around a Conner can you just hit the gas and have it come out form under you or does the motor run out of RPM’S.

Thanks for all your help

+1....easily the most "fun factor" I've gotten out of a mod so far.

If your driving around a lot of turns i assume that your running road courses. So therfore you will be better off with a 1.27.1 gear ratio. This will give you awesome bottom end, and also make second gear a hard shift. You state that you have a mostly stock 5 speed. For this i recommend that you change to titanium shift rail to help eliminate gear hop that will be developed by the higher rear end gearing. On my car i also took out the syncronizers, so i wont be able to granny shift, or shift without double clutching, for you non car people. Double clutching builds more efficient power, and acts as gear doubler. It is recommended in your owners manual as well.

im having a hard time picturing how it feels. would i be able to floor it at like 1500 RPM and have it pick up pretty much instantly?

Damn, none of that even makes sense, I hope you were kidding.

About the 4:10's though, I had them put in and absolutely love them, you will feel more kick in the pants at any RPM that you decide to stomp it at. Also going around corners is very easy to lose the back end in a cloud of smoke [sm=gears.gif][sm=gears.gif]

You should be able to do that without 4.10's but 410's will make it much better. Just get them!

1. 4.10s FTW

2. double clutching? We're synchronized...

3. OP once you start street or strip racing, spinning the tires is the LAST thing you'll want to do lol...that's okay just dial 1-800-MICKEYS (hey that even came out to 7 digits cool!)
