T56 Cobra Spec Transmission

It's a 5 speed. I don't need an extra overdrive gear when I'll never evenhit 5th at the track. The T-56 is kind of a pig in the weight department. I think people just want that extra gear. More power to them.

^^^Most people don't know about the TR6060. Tremec's site is ancient and never updates the world about it's changes apparantly and a lot of people are too lazy to call and ask. But it is a good tranny. And yes, you're right, most people asssume the 6spd tranny's are heavy, but its only like a 20lb difference.

First off all why do that swap when you can get a tr-6060(new version of the t-56) that bolts directly to our cars without too much custom parts for 4k. Second of all the tko600 is only about 20 lbs lighter than a tr-6060.

I like the idea of the 6 speed. I don't need it, but with 4.10 gears it would drop my cruising rpms about 10%. I'm not sure what the ratios are for our 5 speeds, but 6 speeds generally are closer in ratio, keeping your car in the power band longer.
Plus it's something different. If I really wanted a track queen, I would get a 3 speed auto with a transbrake. But I love rowing through the gears.

If I ever need to upgrade my trans after my blower install I am getting a 6 speed just for highway cruising. I am keeping the stock 3.55's in the rear but It would be nice to loaf along at 2000 rpms in 80 which is my normal cruise speed. I figure it would be worth a couple extra MPG as well.
When I talked to D&D, they said the 6th gear (now they are putting in the 6060 transmission) was 0.62, which is what our 5th gear is now. They said nobody makes a conversion to get the 0.5 gear (which I wanted for highway use) put in.
