Default Idle Stang

Hey guys and gals,

I had an 07 GT until some misfortune came upon me. But! never fear! Mustangs are in my future, plan on re-ordering a new one in spring of 08.

On my 07 it idled seemingly high to me. all i had was a Brents CAI intake and tune with SLP Powerflo <the non-loudmouth set up>. When I say high I'm talking warmed up it idled at 1500rpm.

Bad tune maybe? or is this normal performance on the mustangs? Can you make it idle at 1000 rpm? Would idling that low hurt the motor?

Thanks guys!

It is too high (1500 RPMs) and no -idling at 900-1000 RPMs is great and wont hurt a thing. Call up Brent and he can fix the tune. Try reloading it first and if it still happens call Brent!

Welcome to the forum!!!!!!!!!!!! J S197 section mod

wow that is a pretty high idle, mine only idles that high when I first start it up in the cold. I actually raised my idle speed about 100 rpms (or around there) from what brent had sent me originally. But only because I have UDP and I was worried about my alternator. But it still only idles at about 800-900 rpms.
