Default Delete plates

Got a chance to save afew bucks and buy delete plates from a guy I know but not a friend, he is getting a GT500 and selling his mods, I can get his delete plates for $100. They are Ford racing and not the steeda brand. Is this a good deal? Is there a difference in them, from what I've read they are the same. What should I be concerned with here? Is it worth saving $40 on a used set of these?

Yea, the FRPP and Steeda ones are exactly the same. Just have a look at them and make sure there are no big dents or anything like that. I would buy them for that price. I bought set of the cast plates for $100, then I found a guy selling the billet plates for $90.

Just remember you'll need to tune for them.

You're not going to find them for the original price of $90 new anymore. I have 2 brothers that works for Ford, one of them is working on the 09 Mustang, and he asked around about the FRPP delete plates and everybody told him that I'd have to go through Steeda for them. Steeda charges like $140 for them. It was a great bang for the buck mod for the early adopters of this mod when they were still offered through FRPP, now it's still a good mod, just not as cost effective as it was before if you buy new.

No, it's not a good deal.

New FRPP's were $90 a set. Now you can get Steeda's for $140 a set.

He speaks the truth, they are the same so if you can get either of them for 90-100, you are saving some dough becuase you wont find the FRPP version new.

Not seeing how $100 is not a good deal. As mentioned, you'll be lucky to find them for cheaper than that. Mine are getting ready to come off and they'll be getting sold for $100. Either that or pay Steeda $140 for the exact same thing.

I got a set of the billet plates for $90 I know they're not any better than the cast ones but they look pretty.

If the guy selling them is a good friend, maybe he'll be willing to cut the price a little bit.
