Default 5.0 Mustang Growl

Remember the sound of the 5.0 mustang with flowmasters? How do I get "as close as possible" to that sound with a 2007 GT? I already put on Borla Stingers, it sounds nice, but I'm trying to emulate the 5.0 with flowmasters sound. I'm willing to do different headers, different mid pipe etc. I listened to the youtube things and such, the sound quality is so crappy on those it's hard to tell the differences. I'd like to keep the stingers since they cost an arm and a leg and I like the tone they give. I've already read the "exhaust thread" so please don't refer me there unless you think I missed something.

thanks-

good question i found my mustang lacking the deep growl of the older 5.0s tho we are a ways faster stock vs. stock. I come to understand its cuz it has more liters but is only .4 more, theres gotta be a way to make it growl like that, and id like to know as well

Yep, we have to put a 2 valve or 4 valve motor in the car LOL.
Just kidding.
3 valves are not going to sound like the old stangs. Maybe some what close, but not exact.

i think also the 5.0 had a mid muffler set up and 2 valves which make the diffference in sound. i would try LT's, o/r h-pipe, and maybe pypes mid mufflers. but more importantly, dont try to duplicate another sound, get the best out of the s197.

You can't get the same sound because the 5.0s are the old single push rod motors. Nothing will sound better then them!

I was just thinking of getting as close as possible. What hardware would it take to accomplish that and then how close would it be?

Start with Flowmasters. Close enough for me.
