I'm trying to duplicate the sound of the new Bullit Mustang, the two mods I see for that was the shortys and different axel backs.

I have the JBA shorties in stainless. They do emit alot of heat. If I could have done it over again I would have got the coated.

They also look better too.

And you're right abouth the sound. I had those combined with FRPP stingers and it sounded bad ***.

IIRC, stainless headers will also eventually get kind of rainbow-colored from the heat after a period of time. The ceramic-coated ones (or Jet-hot, too) will look thesame, and keep underhood temps down.

Beware during install though - ANYWHERE that the ceramic coating gets scratched, the headers will rust in those spots, making them not as pretty. So be careful!!

Does anyone have a preference of Ford Racing vs JBA shortys? If so why?

Ceramic allow for better air flow...the stainless will slow down the exhaust flow...so get the stainless with ceramic...for best longevity and reliability
