Default Powershift - Rev limiter?

So what happens to your car if you screw up power shifting from 2-3 and instead go from 2 back into 1? If you pop the clutch after putting it back into first going over 60mph will the rev limiter save you? Or is your car toast?

I think something will get ****ed up like ripping up your gears or something. Ive actually gone from 3rd to 2nd but before the clutch was totally disengaged I felt the cars nose go down so I put the clutch back in.

Since we are on the subject I got a question:

If you are powershifting and have your out of gear rev limiter set at 6K and you are shfting at 6200 rpms is that okay? Next track visit for me ill most likely be powershifting to hopefully get me some nice mid 12 runs.

You'll probably do a pretty good bit of damage... The rev limiter only protects you from revving via throttle motor or amount of fuel or whatever means (not entirely sure what it controls in detail)... If you were to manage to recouple the trans to the engine at that kind of RPM you would be mechanically trying to rotate the engine faster than it can probably physically rotate without coming apart... I doubt you would be able to get it into gear though and would probably just chew the synchros and gears in your trans... I'd advise sitting in your driveway and practicing blasting the shifter into 3rd with the engine off till you're comfortable you can always hit it... Personally I've never missed and hit 1st...

It would be very hard on the drivetrain and the rear wheels would immediately slow way down to the point it feels like they locked up and you would get some skidding.

With my car, it will not let me shift into 1st gear from another unless i am practically stopped, so i am not sure if there is something that would prevent this scenario from even happening or not. I think that if you do shift say from 5th to 3rd and once in that gear if you are past the rev limiter you are hosed and you can over rev the car. As for damage done, i think after repeated times powershifting even if you dont miss a gear and make a good shift will takes it toll of course, just like being in gear and just bouncing it off the limiter

You can't go back into first unless you are just barely moving. Nothing to worry about.

What speed do you consider just barely moving?

I've gotten mine into first at around 20mph. I didn't let the clutch out, but it went into 1st gear.
