Default tuners?

whats up guys. im new to this forum and just bought a 05 roush mustang yesterday. i was lookin for parts to purchase and have used the "search" button a lot in the last couple days. i was wondering which tuner you guys recommend. i was leaning towards the sct but would like to get some input on getting either the x2 or x3 and what the differences are. also there is the diablo predator but i know the sct is more common.?

also, rpmoutlet offers a package deal of the c&l intake with the sct or diablo for like $500. i cant find it cheaper. has anyone had experience with rpmoutlet?? thanks guys...

Congratulations on your new mustang. I hope you enjoy it. As far as your questions go, that sounds like a killer deal. C&L is one of the better intakes you can buy, and at that price for an intake, it's a great buy. My only concern about that website, is their tune. I know places like brenspeed and bamachips use a complete custom dune (some of the best tuners in the mustang world). The only thing better than one of their tunes is a custom dyno tune. I would recommend looking at www.brenspeed.com You would notice a big improvement in the way your car performs. I particularly went with a Steeda Cold Air Intake. check www.steeda.com out as well! If you go steeda get it from brenspeed, becuase their tune is better than steedas. I put steeda's link up because they have some cool products for you to check out.

As far as a tuner, you're right. SCT is the most widely used. Most dyno shops use SCT software. The X2 is the most commonly used tuner. Mine has always worked great. The x3 is brand new. I've never used it. I would just be happy with the best deal I could get on a XCal if I was you.

Ditto what SD05GT said. Although the price is right, you'll most likely get a canned tune from RPM vs. custom tunes and great customer support from Brenspeed, Bamachips, VMP and Evolution (personally, I'd go with Brenspeed or Bama).

If you're intending on getting dyno'd at some point, I'd go with the tuner that the dyno shop supports. Otherwise, it's a toss-up. I have the Xcal2 and am very happy with it. I've heard the Xcal3 had some "bugs" but I don't know if they were resolved.

I have read many horror stories about RPM outlet. Get your intake/tuner package from either brenspeed or bamachips. Besides, if you get it from one of these two, you get three tunes, a $150 value, for free.

Lately, it seems that Doug at a bamchips is getting alot of accolades compared to Brent over at brenspeed. Because I have a diablo, I have never used brenspeed. Doug makes awesome tunes. Either one you choose, you can't go wrong.
