Looking to throwing some more HP in my 08 GT. How much can those 4.6L's really handel as far as HP increase before you have to start really changing around the motor. Say I did go over the limit what exactly would have to be changed on the motor and rear? Can the transmission handel the power as well. What the average price on a S/C instulation?

I recently ran into a guy who was still using stock internals,aA Saleen supercharger, and had a custom tune by JDM. He was dyno'd at 650. That's the highest I've heard from a stock bottom end. He's said he's had it this way for 59,000 of the 60,000 miles his car has on it.

yeah, I thought the same thing. I talked to guy for quite a bit about his car (it was at a local car show). He was real nice, so I have no reason to doubt him. He upgraded the clutch (of course), but other than the that, the engine was as Ford delivered it to him.

 

I dont mean to sound like an *** or anything, But i have a 298 jdm stroker motor and a saleen s/c so i know somewhat of what im talking about. Now if this guy was dynoed at 650rwhp then he was lieing to you. Even jdm themselves will admit the most they have ever taken a saleen equipped car is their own and that was 634rwhp. It is possible to get more but you would have to add nitrous to it also.

if you are talking just 650 crank hp thats a whole different story but still pushing it.

jdm has 5 guys running a saleen s/c at 15 psi on stock motor and stock auto trans running in the 10's!! they definately know what they are doing with the tuning.
