Whippled stang gets VMP tune
I ordered a tune last week so this past weekend I did a IAT relocation. My tune was emailed today so I loaded it in the car right away. What a difference it made. The throttle response is more crisp and theres alot more power in the lower rpm's and it keeps strong to 6500. My clutch slips badly in 3rd and 4th gear now, something I didn't have a problem with when I was using the frpp tune. With the frpp tune 1st gear was on the edge of spinning at WOT and 2nd hooked up completely if i granny shifted (3.31 gears). Now I have no traction in 1st and 2nd. This car feels like it'll smoke my 3.73 geared vortech supercharged fox body which put down 409rwhp. If anyone is on the fence on ditching the frpp tune for a custom tune I say go for it.

+1. My clutch would slip like crazy in 3rd and 4th with the VMP dynotune. Did you tell him that you relocated the IAT sensor? If you did, your tune is probably very similar to mine as I have the IAT sensor relocated which allowed him to tweak his tune on the dyno and allow it to not be as conservative since we are getting a more true temp reading.

Why not upgrade your suspension and clutch to handle the added HP/TQ. Seems like you had a faster car before the VMP tune if your saying all you do is spin in first and second now and have clutch slip in 3rd and 4th?

I'm not going to say there was something wrong with the tune i just think it didn't perform as well as others. I believe americanspeed dynoed 399 with the frpp tune which is the lowest i've ever seen. I don't think mine was that bad, but i do think it was in the low 400's. I plan on getting on the dyno soon with my new tune. Maybe i'll load the frpp tune to see what it does. As for the 3.31 gears i don't really care for them. Now that i can change my speedo i'll be going to 3.73's.
