Ok so I have a 2005 Mustang GT 5-speed. Today i was racing a ford lightning and everything was fine until i hit third. I was granny shifting and i went to shift into third it just made this grind sound and then went into third. I had the same problem before. When i first bought the car the transmission did the same thing when i went into 2nd but it was under warranty and they put a brand new tranny in there. So now its happening again. They told me it was the synchronizer. I have no clue what the hell that is lol. But instead of getting this one repaired i would like to do an upgrade so this will never happen again. Any suggestions on which transmission would be fit? Any comments are appreciated because I am freaking out....

 

TR-6060. 6-speed that's in the GT500.

That trans is also in the vette, challenger and viper. It should be a good one.

I really wanna swap my auto with one.

Although the bad thing is my new aluminum DS won't work with it. Its only for the 5r55s and 3650. Daaaaang.

 

yea the only one that everyone says works with both is the spydershaft. I put the same spydershaft from my 5 speed on my 6 speed and it works just fine, the slip joint takes up just a little slack is all, but not much.

 

DO IT!!!!!! I'm doing my conversion over winter break. I should be getting my 6spd in the mail sometime next week
