Default Check engine light with new exhaust

My check engine light came on the other day after about 100 miles of driving. I just had the pypes street legal x pipe put on with the cats. Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem.

I didn't have this problem with a bassani catted-X. Does your catted X have the O2 sensors connected?

Have you read the check engine code? Auto Zone and other parts stores will do this for free.

Don't you have a handheld tuner with you?

I got a light with the SLP HI FLO cats, my tuner disabled the light. I have my stock H pipe available in case emissions laws change but I won't have to worry in AZ until 2011 so using the tune to disable light is good enough for me. You can also check your cats, I have already gone through 1 set, they break easily (ceramic subtrate) and then end up in your exhaust, when I pulled the old ones off they were completely hollowed out !!! lol

I am moving back from over seas and I do not have my tuner with me. But I will have a tune shop turn off the sensors since I tired of them burning out.
