Default Am I crazy? Too much gear?

Looking for some people experienced with steap gearing, want to get some user opinons.

I have been looking around at gears to go with other mods I have and have planned, just trying to get a feel for what gears I'm going to settle on.

What I have:
08 GT
BBK CAI
BBK Throttle Body
Pypes Mufflers
BBK headers (in shipping atm)
BBK High flow x (also in shipping)

I am going to be getting the FRPP cams for sure in the future, and probably one of the Brenspeed v3 supercharger kits.

For wheels tires I intend to get the 18 X 10s with either MT radial2s or the Nitto 555r. For suspension, undetermined as of yet, open to ideas.

I was looking at 4.10s for a while but here is the deal. This is NOT my daily driver. Pure leasure, fun to take out at night and mess with ricers, drag track very rarely if ever. But now I have also noticed they have 4.30s or 4.56 commonly available too. Seeing what I have and what I have planned, lets here some thoughts. Thanks in advance for any help.

I think with the s/c 4.10 will be all you want, maybe just 3.73. Are you auto or manual?

ug, tried to get all the info in there, cant belive I forgot that VERY important part.

Manual

Also, the cams are something I will probably do next few months, where as the S/C I will probably be waiting a year or more (if ever) so dont let that sway too much. I thought I saw someone say recently they had the 4.30 and loved it, thats what got me thinking

I can only think of a handle of people that have 4.30, most manuals have 4.10s and some have gone back to 3.73 or 3.55 even when they add s/c to the car after getting 4.10s.

I am only pushing 320ish HP and first gear when i step on it is worthless, i cant imagine another 130-150 HP on top of that

If this is just your toy and you are going with a hair dryer supercharger I would recommend the MT 305/45 DR's and 4.56 rear gears RPM's are your friend with these superchargers. These tires are a little over 28 inches tall and with the 4.56's should get you out of the hole just fine. I run these tires on the street for mine with 3.73 gears but I have an auto and turbo combination.

if this is just a weekend warrior i say go with the 4.10s... especially if you are going to be going with a centri supercharger in the near future... with these gears it will get you in to the max power range of the supercharger faster... i would love to go with 3.90 or 4.10 gears but i will be going with a TS supercharger plus this is my daily driver (hell i may still go with them..lol)

well I have the frpp hot rod cams and i also have a whipple as well. I am running 4.10's. To be honest I would not go any higher than 4.10's myself if you are going with a s/c later on. I rode in a 96 Gt one time that had 4.56 gears and holy crap was he snaping the gears fast. I think it all depends on how you are going to have fun in the car. Are you wanting the power from red light to red light or are you wanting the top end highway fun? If I wasn't going to s/c my car ever I would have put a 4.30 in. But that should only be done if you are not dd the car. That is my .02

I'm just trying to figure out the best gear I can run that isnt going to be traction limited. I mean if I have to severly cut throttle so that 1st and 2nd are not useless, then the gears themself are useless. Sounds like most people here agree that 4.10 with some decent tires is the way to go.
