Tune Review: Brenspeed 93 Octane vs. BamaChips 93 Race
#21
Great thread guys. I'm in the process of ordering a tune and I'm wondering if it is worth it to get the Brenspeed 93. In my area the highest octane I can get is 91 so I will defintely be getting 91 tune as well as the 87 for winter.
My question is can I run the 93 with 91 octane gas and an octane booster. is it worth trying?

I run a 91 Race tune and last week I put 89 in it since where I was getting gas was out of 93 I guess since 89 would select when I hit the 93 button. After about a day I started to get quite a bit of pinging from 4K and up. I now have 93 back in it and no more pinging.

I have the Brenspeed 93 tune and all I can say is their tune is a heck of a lot better then the custom tune my shop did for me. The car idles way smoother and has a lot more power. I do wish it had some more low end torque. I havent tried any of the other tunes yet. I have a 93 Nitrous tune and 87 Emissions tune. I may order a BAMA 93 tune just for giggles since I always here folks saying their Auto tune is the best.

I've been using the 91 Brenspeed tune for a couple of days now. This is truly a sweet tune (at least for my driving habits). As I said previously, the first 1.5k is tame, but the torque is real strong up through 4k, at which point you get that slight "turbo-like" kick that stays there all the way through to the redline.
I definitely like this one better than the Bama 93 Race tune because you have more power on the top end.
This one's a keeper.
One day I may try a Bama 93 Torque, but based on the description on Bama's website, I'm afraid that it will have even less power than the Bama's 93 Race tune on the high end, and for me, that just isn't a good thing. I want to feel it all the way through the RPM range. If anyone has a Bama 93 Torque and can describe it in comparison to Bama's 93 Race, I'd really appreciate it.

I use both the 91 race and 91 tq. The race tune does have better seat of the pants feel around town, so I use that one the majority of the time. I do get better times at the 1/8 mile track with the 91 tq tune. As far as comparing the two on the hwy, I really can't tell that much of a difference

to the OP. why the hell do u shift at 5.5k? we def dont peak that low. mine peaked at 6250 and i repeatidly rap my rpm needle past 6500. hell the brenspeed 93 tune is set for 6800! at the track i shift at between 6800-7k and u can c wut my car is trapping on my sig
