engine/tranny build up?

engine/tranny build up?
what are some options I have if I wanted to build my motor up for boost?
I will be attending the FORD ASSETS program at the local university and one of the lessons will be to take apart both the engine and tranny. I will talk to the professor about doing an engine build up for 'extra credit' lol. Of course with his 30 years worth of expertise and guidance to make sure I don't break anything along the way.
Not sure which way to go, 5.4 build up or making the internals stronger while staying 4.6 Liter.
What kind of power output should I be looking at if I were to stay 5.4 NA street legal, no boost, mild cams? If I do go FI, I'll go whipple H.O. since I will have the huevos for it by then lol.
For the tranny I may go with the level 10 stage 3 build up kit, which includes everything ( I believe, minus the TC) for $1,200 or so...
