KR Exhaust on a 4.6
Hey guys. Wanted to share a project I have in the works right now. I recently had a Bassani X-pipe (catted) hooked up to stock mid pipes and FRPP/Borla Stingers. After hearing the KR exhaust on the GT500's, I really liked the sound.
I picked up the annual 2008 edition of Shelby Magazine, and flipped through the article entitled "Building the GT500KR." It seems that Shelby Autos deletes the GT500's stock X-pipe crossover with an H-Pipe Crossover, similar to the FRPP X-pipe upgrade for the GT, only the opposite way (obviously.)
Shelby then replaces the mufflers with Ford Racing mufflers, similar in style to the Stingers. FRPP part # M-5230-S (also called the FR500S exhaust.) This creates the KR's distinct exhaust.
I recently sold and swapped my Bassani X-pipe for the stock H-pipe, and placed an order for the M-5230-S'. The mufflers should be here Friday, and I am very anxious to hear what they sound like on the 4.6 S/C. I have heard plenty of videos/clips on YouTube, but all on the 5.4L.
I will make a comparison video from the stingers to the KR's. The mufflers should be here Friday from Jegs.

The KR mufflers on a GT500 sounds awesome. I was watching a few videos of that and was very impressed by the sound of the KR exhaust.
So are the KR mufflers borla? They seemed to sound different to me but of course the 5.4 is going to sound different than a 4.6 with borlas.
I also didn't know the GT500 came with an X pipe. I thought it had an H.
