Need help with inop gauges.
Hello friends,
I have a 96 gt and my gauges are not working properly. The speedo and the rpm works. All the other gauges, temp, gas, charging and oil pressure dont work. They look dead or stuck in old positons. I bought the car from a friend and he said the gauges simply stopped working after time. He thought the instrument cluster was bad, but he was not sure. Also, The gas is stuck on 1/4.
The alt seems to be charging properly. Is there any fuses I can check or anything I can do to solve this?
The connectors in the back of the instrument cluster are in properly as well.
Any help would be great. Thanks so much.

Well this is the in S197 part of the forum or mustangs from 2005-2009 so your post will likely be moved.
But I would check all the fuses in the passenger kick panel as well as those under the hood.
Could be a bad cluster though, check out mustang parts salvage or a similar place and try to swap it out if the fuses/wiring looks good.
Also I think your speedo will still work because it is gear driven off the trans and the Tach might work similarly. Sounds electrical.
Good Luck
