Default ? for SCT tune guru's.........

I am wondering if it is possible to to take the the bottom end response of the 93 Torq tune and the top end response of the 93 race tune and create a new program with the best of both worlds?

Anyone know if that could be even be done? If so, I think everyone would go with that one!!

I have the performance tune it is doesn't have the bottom end or the top end that the other 2 tunes do, It may have a little of both but but not even close for me anyway............

I believe the race tune is supposed to the all around tune.

For me, the Race tune is the mild one, up until 3000 rpm then its like a 4 barrel carb. opening up.

Well these engines don't really start making their power until 3K anyway.

I have a Race tune and Torque tune and to me the Race tune feels better all around. Plus I like its touchy throttle response. I use it 99% of the time.

For every day driving I go back and forth between the 91 race and 91 tq, but at the 1/8 mile track, the tq tune has produced better times by an avg of .2 to .3 seconds.

Short answer... No, can't do it.

Long answer: Here's why. To get the differing results of a tune, the spark and fueling maps are very different for a car tuned for off the line performance (aka torque) vs how one tunes a car for top end power (aka horsepower). If you just went snip snip and cut the two tunes apart and pasted them, the areas where the maps transitioned from one map to the other would cause the car no end of fits.

Absolutely.

I have my car setup to get to 60mph just as fast as it can get there. Then from 60 to top end it pulls pretty darn hard. 5th gear pulls almost as hard as 4th.

I'm an SCT dealer (not a forum supporter at this time), my tune has been heavily modified. Its not a torque tune, performance tune or race tune............its a "run like a bat otta hell" tune.

Which every tuner you go with he can fix you up. May take a lot of dyno time and datalogging, but man its worth it.
