Default gas smell???

Over the last few months, i've noticed a raw gasoline odor inside the car. i can smell it a little outside the car but more noticeably inside. I've even had people ask me if i spilled gas on my clothes! I already checked my injectors for leakage, and replaced the o-rings to be on the safe side. i even changed the fuel filter...anyone else have this issue or know of any common problem like this on the 05+ GT's???

Have you ever had the fuel pump upgrade done? May not have hit all the notches during re-installation. Should also give you the occasional EVAP code.

no, I've never had the fuel upgrade done.....why you ask? Do they usually go bad quick? Cuz I've never installed anything that would require a more powerful pump. And unfortunately, I never have gotten any EVAP M.I.L. code. The only code I've gotten before was a while ago, and it was "system too lean". Not even that has anything to do with it though, i would understand "system too rich" or something.....It's just really embarrasing and i dont want anything to progress and get really bad. Trying to avoid as many repairs as possible, ya know? lol.

Check the clamps on the fuel pump line at the gas tank. They may have come loose.

There's a safe dye you can put in your tank. It shows up under a black light, and can be used to troubleshoot fuel (and oil, coolant, and A/C) leaks. I used it with good results a while back. Link.

Thanks for your inputs guys, but i cant afford the $50 to locate the leak. Than I'll have to fix it! lol. I appreciate your help tho btw. Just hoping for a quick, easy fixer-upper.

Default Gas Smell

I had a gas smell a month ago. No obvious leakage anywhere, nothing wet or damp, still a horrible gas smell that would get you sick at ur stomach. Finally did a smoke test: I had the plugs changed 2 months before and the shop didn't torque the new plugs right, the #5 and 8 plugs had worked loose and it was raw combustion gases blowing past the plugs. I got lucky and had no further damage and it runs like it should now. Hope it's something simple.
