Question 06 4.6L Engine Vibration

I have a 2006 Mustang GT with only 6250 miles. For the last couple thousand miles I have been noticing an engine vibration that started out very minor but seems to be getting worse. Its to the point where its anoying and the passengers can even feel it and hear it. It only happens when I am driving at slow 10-30mph and RPM range of 1400-1500. IS this common? I know that some vehicles have "dead spots" where HP is at its lowest point in the power curve but on a 300hp car? Could it be something as simple as a loose heat sheild on the exhaust?

I am also having an issue with the Gas tank and not being able to fill it up.. Once I get to 1/2 tank I cant pump any more.. Beginnign to think I bought a lemon and i am started to freak out about it.. Someone please help so I know wether to get rid of this thing now or if some simple mods or fixes can take care of this. I have seen posts about engine vibrations but nothing on the new mustangs and again nothing on a new engine.

I have an appointment with Ford but Im doubt if they are going to find anything.. you know how companies are when It comes to replacing engines.. they tend to not want to do it if they really dont have to.

I haven't heard of the vibration problem. Is it only audible or can you feel it and, if so, where?

The gas pump shutting off is a common problem. There's 2 or 3 TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins) in the "sticky" in the main "2005-2010 Mustangs" forum. Read about all the TSB's if you think yours is a lemon with just those 2 problems.

I can feel the vibration in the floorboard and the pedal. Its not a bad vibration but its anoying and with a still new engine it should not be giving me problems like that. I baby the car for the most part.. ok yea I horse around a little but for the most part I take very good care of it.. think it might be related to the fuel issue? Theres got to be more people with this problem. No way am I the only one.

oh and what is a TSB?

Thank you.. What I believe it is to be the exhaust hangar insulators on the trans cross member is loose. We shall see if it fixes the problem. the Fuel issue looks like I will have to live with because there is no fix for my year specific car. Thanks again for the info and I will let everyone know what ends up being the problem when Ford looks at it.

When you take it in, tell them about the fuel tank issue anyway. They just may fix it.

Is your car an auto? I don't ever drive with the rpms that low. If it's a stick then you should really be in a lower gear. Is it only at 1500rpms or 30mph? If you can go faster or slower and keep the engine at 1500 rpms, do you feel the vibration? If you rev the engine to 1500rpms in nuetral, do you feel the vibration? If it's truely an engine vibration, then you should feel it when just reving. It may just be your driveshaft and the dealers are quick to replace those when people come in complaining about vibrations.

Try a different gas station. It is not the cars fault, it's the pumps. You can try turning the pump handle 90 degrees.

I was going to suggest same thing, when you're at the RPM you feel the vibration put her in neutral and see if vibration goes away. As for a lemon, a lemon is when the same problem occurs 3 or more times without it being resolved, not if you have a lot of different little things wrong. As for the fueling issue if you're not willing to go to the dealer and get it fixed then y bother bringing it up? my $0.02

Default vibration in pedal, 1200-1500 rpm in drive and neutral

Hello,
today for the first time, I've experienced a vibration while driving. The vibration occurs everytime I sustain 1200-1500 rpm, while driving and while parked. I opened the hood and slowly revved up the engine and heard nothing. The vibration is coming from under the car. It amazingly disappeared when I tried to show it to a mechanic, typical. My car is an 04 Gt with 45000 miles and babied. Is it serious? The vibration was becoming very annoying during the day, then bluppp, gone. It ran smooooth on my way home today. Any advice? Thanks everyone.
