Default CAI...JLT or C&L

I'm new to the forum and it was pointed out that my first post was to the wrong section. I don't know if a Mod will move the post but I thought I would try it again here. Just bought a 06 GT with 20,000. I would like to put on a new CAI with tune and want to know if there is any real difference between the JLT and the C&L units. There is price wise. I tried a forum search but these terms are all to short for the search engine to use so I came up with no matches. The manufacturer's test numbers all seem to be the same but I would like to hear from actual users. Thanks

All of the CAI's that require a tune are equivalent in performance. Choose based on price and looks. It's the tune that makes the real difference. The CAI is maybe 15-30% of the total RWHP gain of the combo.

I have the C&L racer from Tillman Speed. You can't do any better then that combo.

I completely agree with Nuke about performance gains. I looked at JLT, C&L and also Steeda. They all claimed similar performance gains according to their websites. Browsing through the forum I saw positive feedback on all three CAI's. I ended up going with Steeda but I'm sure that you would be happy with either of the two your looking at. I bought mine from Brenspeed and was very pleased with their customer service. Make sure that you do your homework on who you buy from to make sure that they'll give you tech support should you need it.

as mentioned above you will be happy with either the jlt or the c&l. i love my c&l racer. but make sure you do get the combo from one of the before mentioned tuners (bama, brenspeed, or vmp). ITS ALL IN THE TUNE!!!! good luck with the decision. you will be happy with either one.

Thanks for all the responses. I decided to go with a JLT combo kit mainly on price. Another question. the websites also suggest an improvement in MPG. Is this for real? If so what might I expect with '06 4.6l, auto.

I have a C&L Racer, but a JLT will work just as well.

Hmmm... No. They may suggest it, but in the real world, not a chance. Mine went down a mile or so per gallon. Probably a change in driving habits, but that is part of the package.
