Default Some Assistance Please

Greetings,

I am driving a 2008 Mustang GT. It is completely stock right now, I have had the car for about 15 months now and I want to increase it's power/acceleration. I know whatwhat my ultimate goal is, but I am not sure how to get there. Right now I have about $1000 and I want to start buliding up the car. Can some of you who have built some up already give me a few tips on what step to do first.

Thanks

Get a CAI with a SCT tuner and a tune and gears. (I prefer 3.73 in both: manual and auto)

After that you will feel like you just got another car.

Do not get, throttle bodies, CMCV deletes, COPs, shorty headers etc.

What is your ultimate goal?

My ultimate goal is something in the 500+ hp range without losing the style that car has now, meaning that I don't want it to be more of a cop magnet than it is. It is a dark cherry red GT with tinted wingows and no striping. I may do visual later but right now I want to do power without compromising fuel economy. Hope that helps.

That's easy, put your $1,000 away in a bank and save up till you can afford the FRPP H.O. Whipple kit, there's your 550hp goal and stealthy, you don't even need to upgrade the exhaust... a quiet killer.

I would do the following:

Get the CAI with a tuner/tune and gears now and start saving toward the supercharger.

Maybe get longtube headers and a catted X or H in the way.

Get a whipple HO kit and get it dyno tuned and call it a day.

We have 5 customers with absolutely stock cars with HO kits on them that are daily drivers and sometimes I envy them, one tend to go crazy with these cars (shortblock, heads, cams, 6 speed, turbo, etc.) and these guys get to enjoy their cars everyday.

I would go and recommend a whipple kit because it comes absolutely complete, almost every part is Ford racing related and once installed it looks like a stock piece, lots of power, zero problems. 450+rwhp, close to 550fwhp. No problems, no headache, no nothing.

I'm half way down the road you're starting on. Trust me, save for the supercharger.

Or....buy these GTA mufflers I'm selling and buy my CAI after I put my supercharger on. LOL

As far as exhausts go, I was thinkin Roush, it has a good sound and good power increase, do you know of any better ones?
