what to keep?

what to keep?
i have a question for those who know about intakes
about two and a half months ago i ordered the jlt intake knowing its the best
performing intake imo. Thing is, that was two months ago. bad company to deal
with. call after call and always some bs. ne ways tired of waiting for the intake i decided
to just buy the airaid intake. what do you know the jlt comes in!!
so now what should i keep the jlt or the airaid?
my concern is im going to do headers and cams for sure in the future, so is there any power
i will not have by staying with the jlt? Because the airaid is bigger i believe.
thanx

Is the Inner diameter of the tubes the same. and what size is the MAF housing are they both 90mm or is one larger. The one that flows the best i.e. larger diameter piping is your better choice. One other thing if they are the same. do both of them place the filter opening in the same place. If not the one that gets cooler air is going to be better

money difference is $100 and let me check on airaid maf
jlt is 89 maf and 4" pipe i believe
airaid is 4" pipe for sure
i do like how the airaid looks
but i want performance over looks
both place the filter in same position but jlt's filter is twice bigger than the airaids

The larger filter doesn't always mean better airflow. I Do remember reading on here awhile ago that most of the CAI performed about the same the big factor was the tune and that the 990mm MAF was better. So if performance gains are close to the same and you like the looks of one over the other or if one fits better than the other I'd make my choice off of that.

okay bamachips says that when the venturi is removed from the airaid the maf will be 101mm
which is larger than most supercharged applications need and extremely too large for a n/a
car
so thats why my question is whether i will see any gains with the airaid instead of the jlt?
thanx for helping out gt/cs

Probably not unless you have extremely radical cams and heads. Or high psi FI. Now another thing to remember you car can only take a breath as well as it can exhale. So it doesn't matter if you have really good intake flow if your exhaust can't move it. Mainly the cats are your week spot. Really unless your putting down more than 500hp you really only need a 90mm maf. The larger one won't hurt anything I wouldn't think. just won't do anything either. You may want to contact Bamachips and see if the larger maf would hurt your performance just to be sure (i wouldn't think it would your car should just use what it need as each piston cycles).
