I was able to remove mine from the topside, however you need a lot of patience and finesse to do so. Also take note that when removing the grille, the piece of the bumper that sits between the headlight that has 2 clips on it for the grille will flex a little for you but you need to be careful so you do not crack that as well when pulling out the grille. I am not sure about the 09, but on my 06 the wire harness for the lamps is not that long so you may need to disconnect them immediately after the grille has been released from all clips.

I tried for an hour to remove the grill, after a few unsucessful attempts I decided to follow 3D Carbons instructions and remove the bumper, once I did it was a piece of cake, removing the actual bumper is only 15 minutes, it wasn't bad at all.

+1

I had to remove my grille from above when I put my stripes on. It was kinda brutal disengaging all those damn clips. Then I made the ultimate rookie mistake and DIDN'T RECONNECT THE FOG LIGHTS!!! dskgjhasg

That was a frustrating mistake.

LOL that happens...I almost made that same mistake. I switched my grille out for the "Eleanor" styled one with the more centered fog lights and had the new grille set and ready to clip and I suddenly realized I'd forgotten about connecting the lights. DOH!
