Default Manually Advancing Timing

Hey, quick question, I'm asking because I'll be install an S/C on my car on Friday, and I'm going to be adjusting my timing on the 5.0, and a buddy of mine has an 06 GT and I want to know if it's possible to manually adjust the timing as they don't have a distributer. I know a tuner will do it, but he doesn't have one. Just figured I'd ask as it's a nice way to get free hp.

No, can't be done without a tuner.

If you can afford the S/C, then you should do it right and get it dynoed. There's more to these engines than just timing.

Thanks, that's what I thought. The S/C is for the 5.0, not his car, he's just helping with the install. Not that I need the help, it's drop dead easy, but I am relocating a few things under the hood, which I will need a hand for though.

Sorry, I didn't realize that you were in the wrong section. This is the '05-10' section for the S197's with the 4.6L engines. Best to get advice in the forum for your Stang.

you didnt read either, its for his friends 06

OP - as stated you need a handheld to adjust, tell your friend to get a CAI/Tuner ~ $500-600 and it'll really wake up his car

Yea, he's asking this on my behalf. I'm going up there Friday(?) to help him with the install.

By the way Jeremy, I got drunk on cinco de mayo and smashed my phone against a wall. Gotta learn to control my anger when around whiskey and tequila... Anyway, Either PM me your number or find a way to get in contact with me.
