Default Found A New Tuner Option

I found this new in-line tuner that claims up to 35hp, 40fp of torque and 5mpg increase. It is made by Ultimate Tuning and Performance. It comes with a 100% money back guarantee, and has pages of positive feedback. Anyone hear of this product?

Well since I can't post E-bay links, I will PM you the link. Here is the response from the e-mail I sent them.

Hello,

Thank you for your e-mail! Yes, it would be fully compatible on your 2008 Ford Mustang GT. While premium fuel may give you better performance over regular 87 octane fuel, it is certainly not required. I would certainly expect around our typical gains in your vehicle, usually anywhere from up to 2-5 MPG and anywhere between 15-25 HP. We fully guarantee that you'll see positive improvements either in performance and/or fuel economy in your vehicle, so if you're interested in trying our product, please feel welcome to take advantage of our 100% Money-Back Guarantee and see how our product works out for you! We designed our guarantee around our customers not losing a single cent if they decide that they would like to return it as we cover shipping both ways!

If you have any other questions, please feel welcome to e-mail us and we'll be happy to answer any questions that may arise!

Thank you,

Best Regards,

Customer Support, Ultimate Tuning and Performance

Are their claimed power increases at the crank(hp), or at the wheels(rwhp)?
If it's at the wheels, then getting an additional 20 rwhp(+/-) from only a tune is just not going to happen unless a CAI is also installed.
Also, is this tuner's 35 hp increase as stated in your initial post when it's installed in a bone stock version of your specific vehicle and tranny? If so, then that's a huge drop going from that claimed hp increase down to their claim of only a 15-25 hp increase in their reply,

IMHO, strongly suggest that you request "SAE corrected" dyno charts(not just 1 => multiple charts) showing before and after performances for your specific vehicle and tranny, as well as the names of other owners whom you can contact before seriously considering buying it. Caveat Emptor!

Sounds like some pretty hefty claims...

Mine is on the way, so I will update you with the results. Hard to go wrong with a 25$ cost and a 30 day full money back guarantee. I would paste the text, but they have blocked the copy function. PM me if you want a link to see the site.

Probably a resistor for the IAT to fool the engine to thing the air coming in is cooler and run more timing, giving you more power and better economy, right up until your intake air is actually hot, and your engine pings and then pulls timing, at which point you lose power and possibly damage the engine.

Save your money, there are only 2 things in a tune that increase horsepower: timing and AF ratio, and unless you run higher octane, you don't want to increase either, whether its by bypassing the IAT sensor or by changing fuel parameters with a custom tune.

I AM positive that the major tuners out there (Bama/Brenspeed) have discovered all the little tricks to make the s197 gain as much WHP for us as they possibly can with their tuner systems available.
