Electrical Problem
After sitting for a weekend, my battery is completely dead, unable to start the vehicle. I have noticed that the dash lights do not shut off even after the key is pulled from the ignition. The backlighting on the speed/tach stays on permanently as well as the check engine etc are illuminated. Right now, my only option is to disconnect the battery. I have checked the relays and fuses and nothing has come of it.
I did notice a few weeks ago that the headlight/interior lights switch felt unusually warm to the touch. Perhaps theres a short somewhere?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Check the carpet in the front passenger's side footwell for water. If it's wet, then there's a leak which may have dripped water on the Smart Junction Box located behind the plastic kick panel on that side, and that can cause all sorts of electrical problems.
