Default Help! fuel rail pressure sensor error?

My car is having some issues. I drove it home real quick to pick something up then 5 minutes later when I came out it would not start. It will start after holding it for a couple seconds, but when it does it gets up to ~1200 rpm then slowly falls down to 500 rpm and dies. I ran the codes and its giving me "fuel rail pressure sensor" as the fault. Could it be my fuel pump went bad, or the fuel filter is clogged, or blockage in the lines because of a bad fuel filter? Anyone else had this problem and resolved it? Any help appriciated

thanks for the suggestion simon it was actually just one of the tubes in the fuel pump came loose so the pump worked and it would pump the gas but right back into the tank. I did change the fuel filter and the old one was so bad even with only 34,000 miles on it (suggested to be changed at 30,000), that might have caused backpressure in the line and pushed the tube off the pump. Thats just my guess since I havent even been in there.
