Pypes Violators Axel-back
#2
TornThorn - I don't know if any axle back muffler made for the S197 will add performance (mainly sound), but they certainly shouldn't decrease it (especially a major company). How noticeable is the change in acceleration? and has anything else changed? Are you driving in really hot weather?

After the violators I can somtimes chirp in first, but no other gears. And WOT with these pypes doesnt even produce a downshift.

If you were chirping 3rd and 4th stock?, I'd put the stock back on - sounds like a no brainer

The car still runs good but the Pypes took the wow factor out. The Pypes might not be the problem but are just magnifying something else thats wrong. Hopefully someone else may have experienced a similar scenario

Did you loosen your midpipes and forget to tighten something up? I'm not sure that would even matter either.
I've had Violators on for a couple of years - zero issues, certainly no loss. I really don't think the cat-backs can be the cause here. Of course the only real way to know is on a dyno.
Good luck figuring it out.

So I put the stock mufflers back on and I still have same performance as with the violators. So just for fun I reset the PCM by doing the 5 second pedal recal. Now I have the power back. Why would I need to recet the PCM when I have a custom tune?
