Procharger Power Claims

Just out of curiosity, do centrifugals like the Procharger whine/whistle while they are on boost (not counting the BOV sound)? All I really hear on Youtube are them being loud only at idle but while driving or on boost they don't seem that loud. Now with the twin screws or roots type blower, it seems like they're quieter at idle but really whine when on boost. I have yet to hear a Procharger/centrifugal that is loud while under boost and driving by.

I don't know if youve seen this particular video, but you can hear quite a bit of the sound. In my experience, the blower still whines at boost, but the sound of the engine and exhaust inside the car tends to overpower it. But from outside the car, you can distinctly hear the supercharger under boost.

No one really ever answered my original question. Can our cars really handle what this guy claims on his "TOTALLY STOCK MOTOR":
Justin Burcham: 565 RWHP (665 crankshaft HP)
• 10.47 @ 131 mph
• 100 octane unleaded
• D-1SC ProCharger
• 800 HP intercooler upgrade
• 16 psi
• standard 8 rib drive
• totally stock motor
• aftermarket exhaust
• only ProCharger and air-to-air intercooler:
no nitrous, no race fuel, and no ice!

From all the research I have done, you are borderline at 10PSI of boost. The safe range is 8 and below. A lot has to do with how often you get on your motor, but at 10PSI of boost, I am being told there is still a small percentage of blown motors. I have talked to several of the popular mod shops about this.

Agreed
Agreed, not unless you need an excuse the replace the block and bottom :-) I am going to end up getting a ProCharger, I figure it is the best setup for my 4.10 rear end configuration. I just need to find the right place with the right price, and of course tuck the money away :-)
