Question 2006 Mustang GT Turbocharging

I believe that I have made up my mind and have decided to install a turbocharger on my 2006 GT. However, I have been bouncing back and forth on whether to purchase the Hellion system or the Turbonetics system. Has anyone out there have any experience, good or bad, with these products?

Simon1 runs a turbo STS rear mount, he might be able to give you some insight on way he went with a rear mount turbo instead of the hellion or turbonetics.

If you are in Texas don't rule out the Fastlane Turbo Kit.

Regardless of which kit you buy...do some independent research on turbocharging. Sizing a turbo is critical to its application and bigger is not necessarily better.

If you want a good kit get one from Turbohorsepower.com. Jim Napier is the man to talk to and can answer all your questions. If you want to save a butt load of money on a great kit go here. http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19927

From what i hear, i could be wrong, is that the rear mount turbo like sts has hardly any lag due to it being mounted in the rear. That is the one i am really interested in, but i am not liking the 7,000 price. So the hellion is the other turbo im looking at. Visit brenspeed to check out the hellion system they have.

One thing that worries me about the sts is, is it still driveable if you run into a slightly flooded road, i mean what will happen then. My mustang is my daily driver. So it gets driven in rain and all kinds of weather.

With a well sized turbo you should not have a problem with lag. Also a single well sized turbo will give you equal performance to twins with less room for error.
