Default Oil Separator

I just installed a UPR Oil Separator on my '06 GT. I will say, a very nicely designed and manufactured part. Recommend highly.

Link? Where did you get it from?

I'm tempted to just go with a breather. The downside being the mess you have to clean up every week or two.

Those of you with NA cars, why are you installing the seperators? I mean, Ford does thousands of hours of testing on everything they produce, and they didn't feel that it was neccessary. Just satisfying my own curiosity, by the way, not saying you are wrong.

Even NA cars can lose some oil through the system. But I agree with IWinULose - it's not a necessary mod at all until you get into FI.

Thx for the link. I'm saving some options in my browser for the day I actually need one of these things.

I'm sure you're right, you don't actually HAVE to have a separator when NA, but these engines seem to have quite a bit of oil in the PCV stream. Getting this oil, or most of it, out of the air being put into the intake manifold has to be beneficial. I wonder if that isn't where a good bit of the carbon that cements the plugs into the heads comes from. I know a lot of Mustang owners (myself included) complain about occasional clouds of blue smoke on start up. Oil separators reportadley get rid of this too. I've seem pics of the butterfly plates in the heads with baked-on carbon that can only come from this oil. To me, it's a $100 improvment that I think can only help my engine. It is easy to install, looks good and from what I read, it works. Just my $.02.

Nice choice. A lot less spendy than the Moroso and Stef's cans.
