Another clutch thread!!
#26
not to jack the thread- but I was experiencing "clutch slip"- you know- the slight over rev at open throttle then back to normal?
Today- here in 40F Austin TX I got that "feeling">
I always disengage TC and experienced the "up rev on the throttle" without going any faster and I was freaking out.
Then I engaged TC and the "studder" tell tale signs of TC engagement.
I have a 4.6 Whipple on an 08 Bullitt pulling 12 psi indicated.
Unless I am mistaken- the TC reads rear wheel spin vs motor speed (and other factors considered)
So if the motor was spinning more than the wheels- we would have clutch slip. Otherwise, we have tires spinning, and no clutch issue (to date/yet)
No?

DOOFUS UPDATE:
TC was coming on in 4th- car was slipping clutch in 5th- probbably also a combo of slip and grip in 4th.
With a great deal of reading on this VERY WELL SORTED forum and thanks to HAMMERON's sticky on his install- I ordered and had the Ford dealer install a McLeod RST Twin Disc clutch and went with a steel flywheel- also from McLeod. I know- pansy way out, but they got it in in a day- I felt I earned my macho man stripes when I installed my Whipple HO- again to the thanks and KUDO's to the contibuting members here.
It is a really "good "looking" clutch- if there is such a thing- shame to hide it under/ in the depths of the car- never the less- I am happy to have it installed, and Lee at McLeod was a great help to me.
Thanks MF'ers- makes owning the car that much more better.
