Default Fuel Gauge sensor stuck?

The past two times i filled up my gas tank the gauge reads half full. It was at two different gas stations and i filled it ALL the way up. Has anyone heard of this? Any quick fixes?

hummm, I had my gauge act weird when I filled it up with the key still in the on position (I had the radio on). it didn't show past half full for over a day then it was fine.

Be sure the ignition is "OFF" when you're at the pump. There's a strange "occurence" to the fuel system that I can't recall the terminology of regarding filling with the ignition on causing similar/same symptoms. 157db explained it once or twice and my brain doesn't retain chit like it used to.

Fully understand the four modes of the fuel guage
and then get back to us if there is still a problem.....

STML is also a problem.
Good thing for the online Workshop Manual....

This problem occurs from cheap gas like arco or costco gas, stay away from the cheap gas it causes all kinds of issues, Now i always pump shell or chevron nothing else. If you do experience this issue put a bottle of techron complete fuel system cleaner for the next 2 fill ups and all should be good. I know this because it happened to me.

Sounds like the fuel level sensor on the passenger side. The one in the driver's side fuel pump hat measures from 1/2 tank down to empty, and the one on the passenger side measures from 1/2 to full.

If it starts to work correctly once you get below a 1/2 tank, then I'd suggest replacing the fuel level sensor on the passenger side.
