This just happened to me last nite, I went to pump gas and right before I pumped I had my key in the on position so my radio could stay on. When I got back in the car and turned it on the gas gauge still read on empty. Woke up this morning and its a little past the 50 mile to empty mark. Can I just reset it or did I funk something up?

You can either wait from 20 to 55 minutes as it states under the fuel gauge section of the instrument cluster diagnosis and testing pdf 157db posted, or you can try to yank one of the battery cables for 5mins or so to reset it along with PCM KAM(which might be a good thing depending). Could also just yank the fuse powering the cluster for the same period.

thanks for the response. today after leaving work my full gauge was back to normal, i filled up the whole way and the gauge indicated that. I was starting to freak out cuz it seems like this week has been nothing but bad for my car, so many issues now. I'm glad this didn't add to the list.
