Just went for a cruise and the got on it a couple times. The auto is so jeckell and Hyde because it goes from cruise to WOT very violently at a low speed. The 4.10s literally make the car want to sideways when I floor it from 30 or so. I can drop it in gear manually and then gun it to take away the jump, but than that only tames it down too much. The top end with the OD off is awesome but tops out far too quickly. Low to mid-range is where the power feels the most increased, even violent lol. The 4.10s love boost, but my tires hate it! Surprisingly, car didn't get too hot even after cruising for 2 1/4 hours. Gobs of power throughout the power band, though nearly no traction down low... definitely have to upgrade next season to an air-to-air intercooler and fat o tires..
nice! I'm running 305-40-18 nitto 555rs (mines a manual with 4.10s).

Mine makes the sucking noise that yours does, but doesn't have the whine - the whine you hear in the video is the dyno.
this is mine:

I bet yours is noisier because of the headers letting more air through, ill let you know how different mine sounds with the smaller pulley and headers.

How warm was it there? The 4:10's are pretty aggresive with a supercharger...that's why I went with 3:73's. I was going to get this same supercharger this month-had the cash to do it and "Life Happened" and took it all away (and more). Time to start saving the fun money again.
Anyway, you'll definately want the new tires for grip and you'll start to get used to the power.
I'm jealous!

you mean how "cold"? lol In the morning, it's usually around 30 til right at May. We just had a mini blizzard yesterday afternoon, then it went away. It does that alot until summertime. The 4.10s like to cruise around in what seems like 4th gear because the rpms stay pretty low if my speed is low, so it "seems" very tame and calm, but the kickdown is where the power is lol I almost didn't get the kit either because of other stuff, but I decided to take the risk anyways..the headers and delete plates help out with the flow ALOT, but the cut outs proved to be too much for the richness of how the system runs now with the boost a pump. I get L/R o2 sensor rich codes as soon as I cranked it, so I just plugged them back up. I am thinking of either some 18x10s or 20x10s with some 305/40/18s or 20s to keep the rear down. Alternative auto ran a 12.4@114 with 20s in the rear and just the Vortech v3 and delete plates, so something is working! thats with stock gears too! Its a great kit, you should get it if you get a chance! Better yet, get the full kit, because the intercooler and more boost will make it definetly worth it! 400whp is awesome, but 480-490whp is better.

healthy sounding GT.

what times are you running with those tires? I need some ASAP!

The headers and smaller pulley will definetly change it's tone.. where are you getting the smaller pulley and are you upgrading your belt tensioner?? whos doing your tune?? I might do the same with mine.... three weeks until track day and kinda nervous with all this new power. 120-150whp than what I am used to..

I'm running the factory 3.55's on my manual car and so far I like them. the car still yanks through gears and I don't have to wind out the motor just to cruise on the highway.

my stock tires suck though but at least 2nd gear holds as long as I don't powershift. 1st gear is a joke in a month or two I'll be getting my new wheels and tires. with 305 drag radials in the back 1st gear will be a lot of fun then I'll go to the track and see what it does.

I ran a 12.9 with a 2.2 60ft and heat soaked (4th run within an hour and over 100 degrees on the track). I launced at 4k (stock suspension) and still spun pretty bad. This was actually my slowest trap speed of the night. I can't wait to get the intercooler!

Heres a video of it:

Im getting the tune done by Don Lasota, and I bought all the parts from Rodeheavers Hot Rod. My original v3 kit was from brenspeed but Rodeheavers had to adjust the tune some. No belt tensioner, if it slips I'll get one but it should be ok.

You'll still blow away 305s

looking back at the install.. it really was a breeze.. so much so that I missed a few steps and had to go back on account of being too damned cocky lulz if you can change a cold air intake or delete plates even, you CAN do this mod.. its worth the money and a DIY indeed

still enjoying the new motor and 385 or 400whp.. one of the two lol

Brenspeed claims 400whp w/8psi but after it pulls timing, power goes down.. on average I'd say 385whp'ish.. still A LOT more than how much I'd do with full bolt ons (for about the same $$$ and less power)

12.9s is still a great time considering mods and weight.. my "worst" times were 13.0s but still good compared to 13.3s consistent before.. in reality, that's a good 3-4 car lengths in real time. what was adjusted on your tune?? does it run faster/better???

PS

Holy shiet.. what size are your rims and do they hook well?? in that vid it does

I'm not sure what he adjusted, but he said it was a good safe tune how it was.

The wheels are:
Rear http://www.americanmuscle.com/18x10-...09-chrome.html
Front http://www.americanmuscle.com/18x9-gt4-chrome-2005.html

Tires:
rear http://www.americanmuscle.com/nitto-...305-40-18.html
front http://www.americanmuscle.com/nitto-...255-45-18.html

They hook way better than stock, but they still spin ALOT.

I also got some new mods (see sig). It is getting tuned on Saturday.
