About to purchase Brenspeed Detroit Rocker Cams
Im settled on Brenspeeds new cams. I'm just about ready to make the purchase. I'm on a fairly tight budget though. Im gonna get the cams this paycheck and the rest of the resources of the next 1 or 2 paychecks. I need to kinda keep my budget under 1800 dollars overall. My buddy will be helping doing the install so we can cut labor costs out (Although I'll still tip him nicely) along with letting him drive it. But main thing being what other odds and ends do I need. Next check I will also purchase a new Intake, the 110mm JLT intake which is recommend along with new plugs. This would be the best time to do a plug change. I'm at 59,200 miles on my '05 GT. My current mods consist of the KOOKS LT system with the H pipe. Flowmasters, Spectre Intake, and a custom tune by Brenspeed. Also how do I get my free modified tune? There's nothing on the page for me to do that. Would I just email them after I order my new supporting mods?

The plugs I would go with a 1pc plug I did this when I had the Detroit Rockers installed by Dave at Brenspeed. He had a few tricks and all went well 2 plugs made a attempt to seperate, but he got them. The rest of my Mods I did the Cams love them so the Tune all my updates Brenspeed did them e mailed them I downloaded into the SCTX3 and onto the PCM very easy. The Tech info on the plugs is posted on Brenspeeds Tech section on top of homepage. All the info is in the TB that Ford has released. If you have problems or want more info call and talk to Dave he and the rest of the shop has been spot on with all my Tech Q's.

Thank you very much. And yes, I have learned that our cars came with 2 piece plugs for the first few years. I'll still have time to research more after ordering the cams because i'm gonna stack up everything I need over the next month or so. I'm very excited about this project and know it can go well.

Ok I just got my cams and intake. On my order I did put my request for a retune on the comments box. Still waiting for the e-mail tune. But now All I need is valve cover gaskets and spark plugs and I should be good to go. Is there any other ends and odds things I may need for this install?

sounds like you got most of it covered, TekMan.
maybe pick up some gasket maker (like Permatex Ultra Black)
for the head/timing cover areas (cam cover installation).
if your cam covers are painted, maybe some painters masking
tape to put on them, to protect them while removing/installing.

yes go ahead and get new cam cover gaskets. the gasket
maker is just for the interface where the timing cover meets
the front of the heads.
look at taco bills cam cover write up, to see what i mean.
