4.6 vs. 5.0 question

I hear you Shane. the M90 I had on my F-150 was a beast. It was so quiet I often forgot it was installed. until I gave it some gas.
took a few days after that to forget again.
edit: btw, not fair you get to see bluebonnets. been 7-8 yrs since I've seen some in person

Don't be too jelous, Tuesday we broke a 105 year old record high, frackin' 94 degrees in early May. OMG in a few weeks it will be 105 with a heat index of 115. I'll totaly bring you some bluebonnets, you cover the flight out there.

You can grab the M90 for about $4,300 right now. It will get you about 370-380 rwhp straight out of the box at 6 (ish) psi. Bump her up to 8 psi and tuning and you are looking at an easy safe + reliable 400+ RWHP for years of fun
[/QUOTE]Havent seen one for that cheep yet, the lowest Ive seen is 4999.99?

These "weak" rods everyone speaks of are stronger than the 3v rods.
Im confident that a 11:1 compression motor that can run 87 oct pump gas can and will be able to run 7 psi. Well thats what whipple makes for them. Their kit makes 600hp crank so why would they sell a kit that will for sure blow up your motor?(this kit if meant for stock cars).
From what my tuner has told me, 11:1 compression doesnt even matter when it comes to boost. The Dynamic CR is what does. and the ability to change that makes the 5.0 more than boost friendly.
There are already 600+hp crank 5.0 running around.... As time goes on, the threshold for power will increase like it always does for any car. For 05-10 GTs, it started with 400 rwhp, jumped to 450 rwhp and now pretty much everyone is doing 480-525. Get the pattern?

thought about the m90, but gonna save and get the r2300. I pm'd a member on here about it and she is making a good 475whp with it, tuned.. forgot the name of the tuner but it sounds like it's a potent little set up. From what I hear the r2300 is more tuner friendly and is capable of pushing 700(crank)hp... 400whp is right around what I had, and it's more than enough power for some fun on the streets. It was at 2800 when boost kicked in though, not like the tvs when it's right off idle.. now THAT sounds like some fun!

that is a function of tuning. not the supercharger. the M90 or the TVS have the boost available right away. but depending on how they are tuned, the boost bypass won't shut until a certain throttle percentage...which for the M90 on Roush tunes is almost 80% throttle

Me getting a supercharger is just a dreem right now anyway but its a fun dreem for sure!
Good info on the m90 and 2300 though. I checked on Yates website and the m90 isnt on there that I could find. Must have to call them. Us Canadians would have to pay shipping anyway so that would take some of the good price go away.
