Default Clutch slipping. Gonna get a new one

Well it's 70k miles so I'm not surprised the clutch has finally begun to slip. I'm looking around at parts and going to replace it soon, but there are a few odds and ends I'm not sure about.
1) Does the throwout bearing/slave cylinder thing need to be replaced? How do you know if this part has gone bad?
2) Do replacement flywheels require shimming, or are they direct replacements? Like the Spec Alum/Steel flywheel.

Replace it whenever you change the clutch
