Default Mid Pipe question

I was looking at getting a hi-flow catted x-pipe for my 2010 GT and I was wondering if it will be alright to run it with out getting a tune all i have done so far is muffler deletes. Thanks

Also what octane gas are you guys running in the 2010 GT's I run 87 but i was wondering if i could get 93 or 89 without damaging the car

You will not need a tune.

You won't NEED a tune but you'll get more RWHP with a tune and no catted X than with just the catted X. A tune should be one of your first mods. After that, RWHP adds are nickle and dime.

Your Owners Manual should tell you what fuel you can use. Basically, you'll probably see little to no gain with anything higher than 87 octane unless you're TUNEd for it (darn, there goes that "tune" word again...).

The owner's manual on the 2010 says you can use 87, but will get the best performance out of premium fuel. I've read elsewhere that you can expect MAYBE 5 hp from 93 octane. I couldn't tell the difference on the stock tune.

+1 on the tune. It is the most bang for the buck, by far. Once you get the tune, the x-pipe with no cats is supposed to give you an extra 10-15 hp, but cost you a little torque.

I can't get a straight answer on what a hi-flo catted X will get you.

With my mods and stock catted H I dynoed 298 rwhp/308rwtq
O/R prochamber 302 rwhp/ 305 rwtq
prochamber w/hi-flows 306rwhp/312rwtq.

I haven't dynoed with the catted X yet, but I assume it would be about the same as the prochamber.

I get how adding cats got you more torque than an O/R, but it got you more hp too?

The dyno runs were done on the same dyno but on different days. The temp for both days was mid 60s to low 70s so weather wasn't really an issue.
