Well decided to get 410 gears after all. Whats a good gear install price on average? So far i got 500 and 575 from some local shops, both seem a little high though.

 

there are a lot of threads on this, $200-300 is pretty good, not including the cost of gears, which should be $200. (or less) i paid 250 for mine and included the materials, not the gears. so 450 total out of pocket.

 

I think I paid $250.00 It's been some time so I am not entriely sure. But $500+ is too much for just labor.

breenspeed wants to charge me $500 for labor. Total is $792 out the door

 

Just had 4.10's installed last week, $335.00 for the labor, I brought gears, install kit, lube, and friction modifier. Was a reputable shop that specializes in Mustangs located in Western PA.

 

Sorry guys i usually do a search no matter what, i just forgot. Prolly just real excited as i just ordered the 410's from brenspeed before i posted! Brenspeed is the one that actuallly gave me the 500 price i got as well. The ford dealer here was the 575, but i figured that would be high. Calling other shops around to see what they charge. I am affraid to go with a shop i know nothing about though as i have heard horror stories on messed up gear installs.

$500 installed, parts and labor for me. Did not include the speedo recal though.

Had mine done by a shop in GA called MVPerformance for $399 parts and labor out the door. Had a local mustang shop tell me they were running a special right now for 4:10's parts and labor for $999!!!!!!!!!!! I told him it wasnt all that special, lol
