labor was 295 at a very reputable and arguably the best stang shop in socal. 250 or so for the frrp 3.73 with all the lube and extra parts... so 550 plus tax out da doo.

yeah.. dealership wanted like 750 w/materials and it would be in their shop for a week because they had to ship the ecu back to ford someplace and recalibrate it... with an SCT you can change the gear ratio so your speedo is correct.. I went to a palce that a friend in town had gone to with great success.. no gear whine.. very happy.. imo, if it's a reputable shop that others have done well with and total out of pocket is $500 or less you are probably okay.. as long as they are willing to redo it if you have whine shouldn't be a problem..

Your going to get all sorts of answers.

NextGen, Hayward, CA - $500 landed

TPS, Campbell, CA - $550 + tax

Both warranty their work. I ended up with NextGen.

Does the 500-575 quote include a master install kit?

If so that price is not high.

That would be a spot on quote.
$550 is the norm around here with a master install kit.

If the quotes do come with a master install kit I say take the deal on the place with the best
reputation. If they both are just as good take the one with the better price or
the place you have a better "feel" for as far as treatment so far and comfortablity.

Sorry, prices I quoted above were for the labor, gears and install kit.

If the prices you quoted included a MASTER install kit with bearings, you
are good to go.
