If that doesn't take care of it, check and make sure there isn't a plastic bag stuck to your exhaust system. Very common.

i jacked car up, got under, used mirrors, only stopped when got home today took off and drove, np smell then in house before they got a bath lol....could smell in house, must be something to do with mixing protectants, sometimes wash and seal w/ turtle wax ice, then sometimes amour all. paintinting them with gloss black, then clear coat, cleanmed and de-greased, coated already w/ plastic adhesion spray...hate keeping those clean.

Well got the covers cleaned painted with fusion for plastic $4 a can , put back on and looks pretty good, only hard part taking off was wipers had to use a trim remover tool that is sort of bent and forked at the end to put pressure and pry up on them, they are on there pretty good, once off the covers have 3 or 4 little posts that plug in at bottom windshield on passenger side a cabin filter, was filthy, heres how looks now, drove around today 100 out, all i smell now is a fresh paint smell not strong, but that was it, damn wierd..

Have to say thought was rid of smell but came back actually after painting, so got under car, nothing, got under hood good bright light found it......was the head of a zip tie practically welded to the flange that secures the header to cat. converter you can barely see it, was just behind drivers side valve cover when you look down behind there, had to get long screw driver and hammer off now no more smell.
