2007 mustang gt camshaft phaser problems!!!! PLEASE HELP
Good Day
(2006 Mustang GT - Code P0340 - camshaft position sensor A - Bank 1 circuit)
I replaced the cam sensor and code returned. I see the note above about cleaning/replacing the filter in the oil control housing. Has anyone had any luck with this and can you tell me where this filter is? Would you suggest "cleaning" the engine with SeaFoam etc? Thanks In Advance... 1SG(R) M

after it warms up the car goes from perfect to real bad , RPM's don't hold and it just goes from 300 to 1200 like crazy, it is bad and i have it on my own shop for the last 3 months,
Any Help ???

RPM's all over the place could be IAC valve or even the throttle body itself. During warm up a car ignores all sensor input and runs on default settings so if this is happening after the car warms up, it's most likley a sensor problem.
I have been dealing with the same problem & code (oops, forgot to put p0022) for the last three weeks. I replaced the solenoids and recently the oil pump. Before replacing the pump, my pressure at idle was less than 10 psi, and I was only at 50 psi at 2000 rpms. With the new pump the idle pressure is between 25-30 psi, but the problem is still there.
As soon as the engine temp get above 105 degrees or so, the idle goes crazy, dropping to 500 or less and then reving to 1200 or so. I seems to straighten out when i give it gas and get it to higher rpms, but then when I let it idle back down, it starts acting up again.

sorry. I should have been clearer. I have the P0022 code mentioned in the original post.
My battery is just a few months old. My alternator did pass the 'disconnect the negative while it's running' test. I did pull it off and took it to Autozone and O'Reilly's to get it tested, just because of some of the posts that I've read on a new alternator solving p0022 problems. But both places said that they couldn't hook it up to the machine because of the u-shaped mounts?

So for the past 14 weeks i have had nothing but problems with my mustang. I have had a shortblock, a new PCM, New cam phasers solenoids and valve bodies, new oil pump, and even swapped from a diablo tune to an sct tune per fords request. I have spent over $3,000 of my own money on some parts and labor and am ready to pull my hair out. I have taken care of all the problems that my car had but the P0022 code which is Camshaft position over retarded bank 2 still remains. When this occurs though i get a misfire on cylinder 5 and a wicked valve knock. So my question is how or what do i need to do to correct this over retardation. Ford is out of ideas and will no longer look at it.
I have thought about the Phaser limiters but i dont think i should have to go that route. about the only option that i have left is trade the car in but i dont want to totally start over on another one. I have put to much time and money into this to just walk away from it. Any and all help or advice or ideas will be greatly appreciated

Ten years on he's either sold the car, burnt it to the ground, or pushed it over a cliff. If, by some miracle, he fixed the problem and still owns the car, you might actually get a response.
