Default Any cams with no torque loss?

I've been thinking about doing cams to pick up some more power, since I have almost every other bolt on. However, every dyno graph i've seen has lost a ton of torque, and just picked up top end. With tuning, is it possible to not loose any bottom end, or do cams just shift the powerband up to the higher rpms where you will only use it on a road course or dragstrip? It seems like a 75 shot of nitrous would give a lot more power across the entire spraying window and be around the same price.

brenspeed has a set of cams called the "detriot rocker" they work with the stock valve springs and vct and from what they say there is no tq loss and when they tested them it picked up and extra 25wrhp here's the link: http://www.brenspeed.com/detroit3vna.html

ive been looking into these myself and they make both NA and blower versions.

with most cams, you're gonna see some low end tq loss. with the tuning you can pick most of it back up. i have the nsr stage 1's by comp and i didnt lose any, but i dont have the sound of a cammed out engine either...you cant really tell i have them installed. my powerband starts bout 2500 whereas most other cams starts around 4000rpms. alot of ppl goes with the 3.73's or 4.10's to help fight the tq loss....as for NOS, i would LOVE to have that....just there when ya need it...

I had been meaning to look into detroit rockers. I see now why people consider them over FRPP ones. I'll have to give them both another look.

I dont have a dyno to prove any numbers but after my d rockers were installed the butt dyno says no low end loss. Definatly pulls harder on the top end too. Has a geat lope.

I could care less about the lope. I actually prefer not to have a big lope and sort of stay sleeperish. My car looks bone stock from the outside except for window tint, so I surprise a lot of people. Brenspeed has always said that the detroit rockers "have minimal torque loss" They dont even claim to be able to eliminate the torque loss themselves. I was thinking about the comp stage 1 or 2 cams, because they are a little more quiet than others. The lope IMO is unnecessary for our cars. The lope comes from excessive valve overlap (both intake and exhaust valves open at same time) which helps exhaust scavenging at high rpms, but kills low rpm volumetric efficiency which hurts driveability. I just want more lift with slightly more overlap to increase volumetric efficiency across the entire engine operating range. Anybody know of any cams that fulfill these requirements? Anyone have dyno graphs of the comp stage 1s or 2s preferably with before/after pulls?

Comp cams make a cam called xfi nsr stage 2. They have little lope with no low end loss at all. Its a great versatile cam. Also FRPP hot rod cams, blow by racing stage 1, and detroit rockers were all designed to have no low end loss at all. With a good tune these cams will pull hard up top and drive like stock. Use the search button there are hundreds of threads about these cams.

I found this a while ago which turned me off to the comp cams. http://www.compcams.com/3valve/dynoresults.asp

It looks like the only ones without torque loss were the sprs, and that adds another 200-300 for the extra hardware.
