Default GT500 Brake kit

Hey guys, ive been looking to pick up the GT500 brake kit for my 05 GT. I know it requres 18 wheels or bigger. My dilemma is i have 20" wheels, but there only 8.5" wide where as i know the gt500 stockers are 9.5". ANyone know if these brakes will fit on a wheel that size?

depends what wheels you have. I have Shelby CS69s in 20x9 and 20x10 and they fit. But Shelby makes their wheels to fit the GT500s. Not all 20s or 18s will fit over those brakes.

Also its not the width necessarily its the offset and backspacing that are the numbers to look out for as well.

EDIT: I read your signature. If your Saleen wheels are designed to fit like authentic Saleen wheels, they should be able to clear the brakes. Saleen's brake kit it is actually bigger than the GT500 kit.

actually no..... The GT500 brakes stick out more than the Saleen brakes. I bought some a while back and they would not clear the spokes.

I wonder if they changed their design at all because I tried on a set of Saleen shoes and I actually had more clearance with their wheels than the Shelbys. Maybe it depends on which Saleen wheel.

BTW Chi Diddy, did you sell a FRPP SC kit to a guy in a Blue GT? That's my Cousin.

Hmmm maybe the Saleen wheels have different offsets. And yes i did if your Cousins name is Mark.the 400 hp non intercooled whipple kit? If so, i loved the sound of his hot rod cams. How is he liking the SC?
