Exclamation Manual transmission fluid change ?

My 06 gt is at 62,000 miles and i think it now needs a transmission fluid change in the car from what i read, but i dont know how much it is going to be? Any info would be very helpful..... i plan to take it to GTR in Rancho to do it if they do.

it requires 3.2 quarts to fill to the bottom of the fill hole. Honestly, the manual is easy to do, and if you have the ability....do it yourself. If you have someone do it for you I would expect to pay for the fluid plus labor, but I'm guessing on these numbers.

4 quarts of GOOD fluid ~35.00-40.00
Labor - ~25.00-35.00

If it were MY transmission I would want no less than AMSOIL Universal Synthetic or Red Line D4. Those are the best two transmission fluids for the T3650 IMO. I currently have AMSOIL in mine, and the shifts are much smoother.

I use Synthetic ATF, book calls for ATF. I think it also calls for a 30k interval. Fellow that says it is easy is correct. Even easier because Ford made the drain and fill plugs with a hole for 3/8" drive ratchet. The drain is on the bottom, the fill is on the passenger side. Parts Houses sell fluid and pumps. You just need to get it high enough off the ground to work. Then drain and fill until the fluid starts coming out of the hole.

Ford didn't build it, Tremec did, but I understand what you are getting at. It's very easy. I would suggest putting all 4 corners of the car on jack stands, unless you have access to a lift.

Yep, just had mine changed at 60,000 km's (37,300 mi)
and fluid came out slightly on the brownish side. I'm Glad I had it done !!!
I went with Synthetic Royal Purple - Max ATF (3.2 qts).
Took about 45 minutes and my total cost Parts/Labor) was around $100.00

Why? Because it is alphabetical... "A" comes before "M"...

Actually, the manual says to use ATF IIRC... Probably due to the addititives make it ideal for this particular transmission...
